Pro Blue Cold Blueing System
It is suggested that you do not mix the entire solution, but save a small amount ti use for touch up.
A small plastic bottle works just fine.
We cannot emphasize enough the importance of cleaning and preparing your metal parts before using this product. As with any fine finishing job, preparation accounts for 95% of the job.
We suggest that you clean your metal parts with Acetone or a high grade Alcohol as regular degreasers will not always cut silicone. If you are doing a whole gun, it is best to start with all the old blueing removed as it is difficult to match old blueing. Better substrate equals a far better finish.
Pro Blue will not fill pits! Pro Blue with go over silver solder. If you only have a small spot to do, Just clean the area that needs touching up. Pro Blue can be diluted more that 3 to 1, and wiped on. You can apply over and over. This allows you to work your way into the best match possible. When you think you’re ready to start blueing, plug the bore (A wood doll works well) Do this to keep from contaminating the blueing with deposits in the bore. For complete weapons run the parts under water. When you remove them from the water, the water should lay on the parts. If it beads up anywhere, it will not blue there. Once the parts are clean, return them to hot water to get them warm, them put them in the Pro Blue solution. You will receive a complete instruction guide with your order.
We actually use this product on our own weapons, and it’s totally amazing to see it work.
