Bushmaster Guns for Sale Online in Detroit, Michigan
Bushmaster Firearms International, LLC, is a firearms manufacturer located in Madison, North Carolina. Bushmaster mainly produces semi-automatic and rifle variants of the AR-15 design. The brand has been owned by Cerberus Capital Management since April 2006.
Most Bushmaster guns are offered in a 5.56 NATO chambering, and the receivers are made of forged aircraft grade (7075-T6) aluminum. The barrels are made of 4150 steel, and chrome liner to increase resistance, though buyers can opt for a stainless steel or molybdenum barrel on certain models.
Bushmaster’s First Generation
Their ‘First Generation’ rifle was manufactured using an aluminum lower receiver paired to a stamped steel upper receiver. In this model, the gas system was similar to the AK-47 pattern, and the recoil spring was located inside the upper barrel gas system. By comparison, in the AR-15 the recoil spring is located inside the butt stock.
These hybrid guns were initially marketed for police and military use, but later on the model was changed to the standard Colt/Armalite design.
Other Firearm Models
Starting 2010, Bushmaster began marketing the Bushmaster ACR, their version of the Magpul Masada rifle. Magpul signed a licensing deal with Bushmaster giving them rights to produce this weapon. Another well known Bushmaster gun is the Carbon 15, a lightweight AR-15 available in both rifle and pistol forms.
The Carbon 15 uses polymer instead of steel or aluminum in the upper and lower receivers, which makes it considerably lighter. The Bushmaster Dissipator allows more effective use of iron sights by combining a shorter barrel with a longer sight radius. Several older models have been discontinued, but they remain in the memory of gun enthusiasts and connoisseurs.
